Invitation to join St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral in Prayer

“Fear not. Stand still and see the salvation of the Lord. For the Lord shall fight for us.” (Gen 14:13-14)

The power of prayer is greater than can be imagined as attested to in the words of a soldier fighting in Ukraine. A soldier on the front line sent this message to his wife, “We can feel your prayerful support.

Sometimes something really fuzzy happens, like someone’s invisible hand is actually taking bullets and shells from us and flying past us. We emerge winners from difficult situations, as if someone is accompanying us. We become invisible to the enemy, we see ourselves in the dark and we know what to do and how to do it. This inspires and empowers us. We believe that the Lord Jesus Himself is for Ukraine. Please, don’t stop to support us and continue to pray.”

St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral located at 835 N. Oakley Blvd., Chicago, IL 60622, invites all residents of Chicagoland and its suburbs, regardless of faith, to join us in a Candlelight Vigil of Prayer for Peace in Ukraine this Saturday, March 12, 2022. The service will begin at 5PM and is expected to last approximately 1.5 hours. The Vigil will be prayed in English starting with the Rosary, a shortened Vespers Service, readings from Scripture and candlelight procession.

Let us join as a people of prayer, for in prayer we know that we are not alone, and this gives us hope.
